On the 8th of December the new issue of German "Heimkino" magazine was released. As add-on it came with a HD DVD. This HD DVD was produced by Imagion AG in cooperation with Universum Film, Toshiba Europe and "Heimkino". It impressively shows the quality and interactive possibilities of the new high definition format.
Besides the first episode of CSI: New York Season 2 (Summer In The City) in full high definition (1080p) and English and German audio in DTS HD, the HD DVD contains a huge amount of bonus material which was also produced in high definition.
As the responsible authoring studio, Imagion provided the HD DVD with interactive features, that mostly haven't been realized on HD DVD before. Users can choose between four different menu designs. The CSI "Investigation Mode" provides forensic and other information and scaleable picture-in-picture interviews with cast & crew during feature playback. Using a map of Manhattan, the "GPS Info" shows the places where the CSI team investigates.
