Munich/Trierweiler – As the first and so far the only European authoring studio, the German company Imagion AG has now been qualified by Apple for the compilation of iTunes Extras content for the iTunes Store.

For movies purchased in iTunes Store, Apple offers bonus content as “iTunes Extras”. Alongside the movie and the chapter selection with menu navigation, the package also contains special features such as movie stills, deleted scenes, exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage or other interactive functions. In order to extend the availability of movies with iTunes Extras functions, a European studio, Imagion AG, has been qualified by Apple for the compilation of this content. This means that the European studios will have local resources to promote the attractiveness of their film downloads with additional iTunes Extras functions.

With the qualification by Apple, our range of services for the creative/technical processing of digital movie content has now been extended by a further innovative service," said Michael Becker, CEO Imagion. Alongside the already available movies with extras in the German iTunes Store, during the last days the Oscar winner “The King’s Speech” by Senator as well as “Season of the Witch” by Universum-Film appeared with extras in digital format.
