Trierweiler/Munich/Los Angeles - Imagion AG and Eurovideo take off into the third dimension releasing the first ever European 3D Blu-ray Disc, "GRAND CANYON ADVENTURE - 3D EDITION". At the MEDIA TECH Global Expo and Summit in Frankfurt/Germany, Imagion AG presented the final version of the fi rst ever 3D Blu-ray Disc produced by an independent studio. "One more time we wanted to demonstrate that we are market leaders in terms of innovation and quality. We are especially proud to be able to release such an outstanding fifi lm in the 3D Blu-ray format. ‘Grand Canyon Adventure’ was created for IMAX 3D theaters using special 8K resolution workflfl ows maintaining incredible detail and sharpness. Along with MacGillivray Freeman and our partners Ryan Mullins (BigPicture) and Eurovideo, we are very happy to be the fifi rst ones to produce a commercially available European disc in the new format", Michael Becker and Andreas Thran, CEOs of Imagion AG stated during the MEDIA TECH Expo.

Currently, Imagion AG is the only European authoring studio offifi cially certififi ed by the BDA (Blu-ray Disc Association) with the Commercial Audiovisual Content Agreement for the production of 3D Blu-ray Discs (see www.blu-raydisc.info). Having finished the first 3D Blu-ray Disc, Imagion AG can now offer a full range of services for the production of 3D Blu-ray discs for the home entertainment market. Among these services for the new 3D Blu-ray format, there is 3D menu design, subtitling, video encoding, authoring, BD-Java programming and quality control. Imagion doesn’t only offer these services to studios and content owners, but also to replicators and authoring studios that are currently not investing in the new technology.
